Role Overview
This role primarily involves leading the hydraulic and mechanical design efforts for high-performance V4 and V6 borewell and openwell pumps. It demands expertise in optimizing key pump components and performing detailed hydraulic calculations to meet stringent performance criteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and enhancement of pump elements such as impellers, diffusers, casings, shafts, and bearing housings.
- Conduct hydraulic analyses to ensure target head, discharge, efficiency, and power consumption are met.
- Review and validate AutoCAD drawings, maintaining strict adherence to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
- Investigate root causes for field failures and prototype defects, applying design improvements accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with production, foundry, and machining teams to guarantee designs are manufacturable and cost-efficient.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards like IS 8034, IS 14220 or their international counterparts.
- Drive cost reduction by optimizing material usage and implementing value engineering techniques.
- Owning new product development, pattern design, and prototype creation processes.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering, equipped with strong capabilities in hydraulic and mechanical pump design.
