Role Summary

The data team at Cubist’s Data Services group seeks a Data Scientist to join their dynamic unit responsible for delivering precise and timely datasets. This role supports the operation of a robust research infrastructure and the trading of substantial capital across global markets including equities, futures, options, and other instruments.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate new datasets from a wide range of sources into the existing data platform.
• Create, test, and deploy data pipelines, applications, and related services.
• Transform, aggregate, and engineer features from various datasets to enhance utility.
• Work collaboratively with vendors and internal teams to comprehend dataset attributes.
• Establish and automate qualitative data alerts and reporting mechanisms.
• Work closely with investment teams to fulfill their data requirements.
• Conduct preliminary analyses and research outputs to support investment decisions.

Candidate Requirements

• Master’s degree in Financial Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or a similarly quantitative field.
• Proficient in Python programming and SQL query language.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services, Linux systems, and Airflow workflow management is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience in the financial sector is a plus but not essential.
• Excellent organizational abilities alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and enthusiasm for process-oriented work.
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Sound judgment in managing inquiries, issues, and operational calls.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize workload effectively.
