Customer Delivery Driver - Bognor Regis

Overview

This role involves delivering groceries to customers in their homes, ensuring excellent service and a friendly presence as a representative of Tesco. Each day brings new experiences and interactions with customers. You'll manage your delivery route independently with managerial support available when needed.

Working Hours and Availability

The required working hours are from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sundays, Mondays, and Saturdays. Contracted hours will be scheduled within these windows with a guarantee of at least 16 hours per week, although a minimum of 12 hours can be arranged for those seeking fewer hours. Shift schedules are provided three weeks in advance, and some flexibility is possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the van and trays used.
• Keep the delivery yard tidy and clear of rubbish, including picking up any litter spotted.
• Ensure trays are washed thoroughly following the tray wash procedure.
• Load the van as necessary and perform safety checks to ensure roadworthiness.
• Communicate with customers regarding any order changes, including explaining substitutions and offering refunds when necessary.
• Handle deliveries with care, treating products as if they were your own.
• Deliver orders during the assigned customer time slots and contact customers if arriving early.
• Notify the store or delivery center if running more than 30 minutes late.

• Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (manual or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
• Comply with Great Britain domestic driving regulations.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting wage of £14.18 per hour for most locations; £15.45 per hour for stores inside the M25. Additional location-based payments may be available.
