About the Role

The Cultivation Lead supports the Cultivation Manager by overseeing key functions and daily activities within the cultivation environment. This role requires hands-on expertise in cannabis cultivation and a willingness to continuously learn and improve. Reporting directly to the Cultivation Manager, the Cultivation Lead is responsible for specific operational areas to ensure quality and production goals are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Cultivation Manager in achieving production targets and maintaining quality standards.
  • Perform cultivation tasks such as watering, foliar pest and mold treatments (IPM), manicuring plants, cleaning grow areas, cloning, transplanting, moving plants along production stages, harvesting, and entering data.
  • Coordinate with Team Leads and support other areas as needed when daily primary duties are complete.
  • Work across diverse cultivation areas including indoor and greenhouse cultivation, IPM, drying/curing, quality control, packaging, and inventory management.
  • Maintain plant health and apply sound agricultural practices throughout the growth cycle.
  • Keep accurate records and inventories related to cultivation operations.
  • Assist in interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and evaluating staff performance.
  • Provide recommendations on employee productivity and suggest compensation adjustments where appropriate.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma required; bachelor's degree in horticulture, agriculture, or related field is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally focused on cannabis cultivation or related agricultural fields.
  • Strong knowledge of the cannabis plant and cultivation processes is essential.
  • Experience in horticulture, plant science, manufacturing, or business administration with 3-5 years in operational production or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to independently manage tasks without supervision.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and adherence to established SOPs in specialized areas.
  • Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Capability to pass a Level II background check.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
