About the Role
This contract position as a Credit Investment Analyst is fully remote and offers flexible commitment hours ranging from 10 to 40 hours per week. The role involves leveraging comprehensive expertise in credit and debt investment to evaluate a diverse set of credit instruments, including high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and structured credit products.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply in-depth knowledge of credit and debt investments to assess various credit instruments effectively.
- Perform detailed underwriting and due diligence, critically analyzing capital structures, covenant agreements, and liquidity conditions to support sound investment decisions.
- Construct and enhance cash flow, three-statement, leveraged buyout (LBO), and stress-case financial models to evaluate potential risk factors such as default, recovery rates, sponsor quality, and refinancing vulnerabilities.
- Examine yield spreads and identify relative value opportunities in both public and private credit markets to maximize risk-adjusted portfolio returns.
- Review intricate legal documents focusing particularly on credit covenant packages to ensure adequate protection across credit structures.
- Work closely with the client's team to provide clear and insightful oral and written analyses that facilitate investment strategy formulation.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of two years' experience in credit investing, underwriting, leveraged finance, or related fields, including hands-on involvement in transaction analysis and investment recommendations.
- Strong expertise in evaluating cash flow statements, debt frameworks, covenant packages, and liquidity metrics for leveraged and private credit assets.
- Proven advanced skills in financial modeling, encompassing three-statement models, LBOs, and downside or stress-case scenarios.
- Deep understanding of key credit risk factors such as default potential, recovery processes, refinancing, and sponsor attributes.
- Capability to analyze spreads, yields, and relative value to enhance risk-adjusted portfolio construction.
