Role Overview
The Cost Accountant position is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram. The incumbent will be tasked with preparing and overseeing cost records, cost sheets, and variance reports specifically related to the footwear production process. Key responsibilities involve tracking production expenses, auditing inventory and overhead distributions, assisting in budgeting and forecasting processes, and facilitating cost control across several manufacturing units.
The role also includes preparing and reconciling journal entries, contributing to the compilation of monthly and yearly financial statements, and collaborating closely with finance, production, and procurement teams to maintain precise cost data. Additionally, the Cost Accountant will provide analytical support to leadership with insights on profitability, cost optimization, and strategic pricing.
Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in Cost Accounting and Finance, preferably within a manufacturing or product-centric environment.
- Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cost reports.
- Strong analytical capabilities for cost variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and supporting decision-making.
- Proficiency in journal entries, account reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Educational qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline. Professional certifications like CMA or CA Inter are advantageous.
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical aptitude.
- Ability to work on-site at Gurugram and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
