Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Contract Administrator plays a crucial role in overseeing contract law application, project coordination, financial analysis, negotiations, and effective communication to ensure the fulfillment of contractual duties while minimizing organizational risks and maximizing benefits.

  • Collaborate with project teams, clients, legal advisers, and stakeholders to manage contract matters and address claims professionally and effectively.
  • Provide guidance on contractual issues and manage all contractual communications per the Prime Contract Terms and Conditions, specifications, and construction drawings, including handling change orders.
  • Oversee contractual commitments and ensure work performance aligns with client requirements, specifications, contract terms, and construction change orders.
  • Support clients in preparing Extension of Time (EOT) claims and respond to the contractor’s EOT claims.
  • Review and interpret contract documents such as contract conditions, scopes, drawings, schedules, and verify actual dates and delay events to ensure adherence to contractual timelines and milestones.
  • Detect and evaluate project delays through analysis of schedules and progress reports, collaborating with project managers and engineers to identify causative factors including scope changes and unforeseen incidents.
  • Apply delay analysis techniques to measure the effect of delays on project timelines and expenses.
  • Formulate strategies to reduce and manage risks impacting contracts and project durations.
  • Prepare detailed delay reports to support claims or dispute resolutions and offer expert opinions during negotiations, mediations, or legal processes.
  • Provide expert advice on pre-contractual issues including procurement strategy and contracting tactics.
  • Manage and document contract variations and change orders, ensuring proper communication with all involved parties.
  • Continuously monitor and prepare substantiated estimates and claims concerning alterations or variations in the contract.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 12 years of substantial relevant experience in managing contractual obligations.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Mandatory MRICS membership (Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors).
