About the Role
Athletic Shorts Media is looking for a skilled Content Researcher to join their team on a remote contract basis. The role involves in-depth research to discover engaging stories, notable figures, and pivotal moments within the world of professional sports. This position focuses solely on research and does not involve managing social media or creating content.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and uncover narratives, rivalries, trends, and significant events in professional sports.
- Locate and compile compelling video clips, interviews, broadcasts, podcasts, articles, and social media content.
- Continuously monitor platforms including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, among others, to detect emerging stories and memorable moments.
- Systematically organize research findings into concise and actionable reports tailored for production teams.
- Handle multiple research projects independently while meeting deadlines.
Requirements
- At least two years of professional experience in media research, particularly within sports media, television, documentaries, journalism, or digital content sectors.
- Exceptional skills in conducting online research efficiently.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of professional sports and sports culture.
- Highly organized with excellent written communication capabilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Background in television or documentary research.
- Experience in sports media or journalism.
- Involvement in digital publishing or editorial research.
- Track record of identifying viral or highly engaging content.
