Role Overview

As a Compliance Associate, you will assist the Chief Compliance Officer and the Compliance team in managing the regulatory risk framework. This includes oversight of compliance with Market Abuse Regulation (MAR), Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID), Conduct and Reputational Risk standards, and other pertinent regulations, contributing to maintaining robust risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and advice on complex regulatory risk issues from the first and second lines of defense concerning clients, products, and transactions.
• Ensure that policies and guidance are consistent with global standards and current legal and regulatory expectations.
• Offer training and support to first-line personnel on implementing policies and understanding their impact.
• Design and deliver compliance training and awareness programs for stakeholders.
• Recommend and execute actions to mitigate identified regulatory risks; prepare detailed reports for senior leadership.
• Support regulatory risk assessments and contribute expertise to change management initiatives and internal policy development.
• Generate relevant management information (MI) and maintain comprehensive reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated experience in Regulatory or Business Line Compliance within financial services for international clients or comparable corporate settings.
• Strong knowledge of applicable regulations and industry guidance (e.g., MAR, MiFID II, WpHG) with practical application skills.
• Experience in policy development and control framework implementation is preferred.
• Degree-level education in a relevant field is preferred, along with external compliance qualifications.

Languages and Skills

• Fluent in English and German (both required).
• Understanding of regulatory risk management within Wholesale, Corporate, or Investment Banking.
• Proficiency in using systems and software for data analysis.
• Knowledge of wholesale banking products is an advantage.
