About the Role

Become an essential part of the Tauranga region by supporting families during pivotal moments as they welcome new babies and navigate developmental stages. This permanent 0.8 FTE position focuses on enhancing health outcomes by promoting wellness, education, and parenting assistance within various community settings. Collaborate closely with Plunket Nurses, Kaiāwhina, and other services to deliver comprehensive non-clinical care renowned across New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide valuable emotional support and guidance to families adjusting to new parenthood and child development milestones.
• Work alongside clinical and community teams to offer holistic and wrap-around services.
• Participate in community events and clinics, occasionally held on Saturdays with prior planning.
• Promote health education and support parenting choices within the community.

Candidate Profile

• Exhibit strong communication, empathy, and reassurance skills to assist families through challenges.
• Demonstrate a passion for working with children and caregivers; training and ongoing support are provided.
• Work confidently both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
• Understand and commit to the Treaty of Waitangi principles, integrating them into frontline practice.
• Hold a valid, clean Drivers Licence for work-related travel.

Additional Information

• Hourly pay ranges from $29.05 to $33.32 depending on experience, equivalent to an annual salary between $57,405 and $65,847.
• Some weekend work may be required, particularly for clinics or events affecting client needs, and is scheduled ahead of time.
