Role Overview

The Commercial Planning Analyst will join the Parcels Planning team, reporting to the Commercial Planning Manager. The role focuses on commercial planning, forecasting, statistical evaluation, and performance modeling. It involves transforming data into actionable insights by employing business acumen, statistical analysis, causal inquiry, and AI-powered workflows. Responsibilities include preparing reports, analyzing movement in performance indicators, maintaining key commercial reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting cycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the monthly latest estimates by preparing analysis and reports to monitor anticipated performance in primary markets.
• Maintain commercial reports covering sales, revenue, margin, demand, order volumes, average order value (AOV), conversion rates, item-level performance, and other vital KPIs.
• Analyze performance fluctuations and identify risks and opportunities across different countries, product categories, parcel types, partners, and customer behaviors.
• Utilize AI tools responsibly to enhance analysis, automate recurring tasks, generate analytical code, and validate results.
• Support budgeting and forecasting by compiling inputs, validating assumptions, slicing data, and analyzing variances.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer targeted commercial and operational queries.
• Identify functioning and failing assumptions and determine where further investigation is necessary.
• Monitor and ensure data quality, identifying inconsistencies or reporting issues promptly.
• Create clear, simple presentations for planning reviews, leadership briefings, and commercial discussions.
• Collaborate with the BI Developer to leverage trustworthy datasets and assist in translating analyses into actionable business recommendations.
• Promote scalable, automated reporting processes over manual, one-off data extraction methods.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in roles centered on commercial analysis, planning, forecasting, or business modeling.
• Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance analytical workflows, code generation, and productivity.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, adept at handling substantial datasets.
• Experience working with BI platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalents.
• Strong analytical mindset with a sound understanding of statistical methodologies, capable of differentiating descriptive analytics from causal inference.
• Comfortable interpreting commercial KPIs including revenue, margin, demand, orders, conversion, AOV, pricing, forecast accuracy, and inventory.
• High attention to detail, especially in forecast, budgeting, and crucial business reporting processes.
• Knowledge of statistical techniques such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, time series analysis, and forecasting methods.
• Effective communication skills to simplify and convey analytical findings clearly.
• Structured, dependable working style balancing routine reporting and spontaneous analytical requests.
• Demonstrated curiosity and initiative in handling complex data and ambiguous business questions.
