Job description

Role Overview

This cleaning position is based at Riverside House, Bridgwater, with working days Monday through Friday, focused on office upkeep. You will be essential in sustaining a clean, safe, and inviting setting for clients, colleagues, and visitors across various OCS locations. Your duties involve upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene according to defined specifications, safety regulations, and company values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, surface wiping, and waste disposal.
  • Maintain cleanliness in welfare spaces, offices, corridors, restrooms, and other designated zones to the stipulated standards.
  • Restock consumables including toilet paper, hand towels, and soap as needed.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety practices, COSHH guidelines, and cleaning protocols at all times.
  • Operate cleaning equipment and materials safely and properly.
  • Notify supervisors of any maintenance defects, damages, or potential hazards.
  • Execute cleaning assignments efficiently to meet established deadlines.
  • Maintain professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with clients, customers, and coworkers.
  • Support area-specific cleaning needs as directed by management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Approved to work in the UK and willing to undergo a DBS check.
  • Although not mandatory, previous experience in commercial or public sector cleaning is preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.
  • Familiarity with hygiene and health & safety standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Dependable, punctual, and adaptable in work approach.
  • Ability to follow directions and established procedures rigorously.

Additional Preferences

  • Experience in Facilities Management (FM) environments or contract cleaning services is advantageous.
  • Understanding of COSHH regulations or experience in safe chemical handling (training provided if necessary).
