Civil Inspector

Job Overview

The role involves supporting the planning, execution, and inspection of various civil engineering projects with a strong emphasis on ensuring construction activities are compliant with engineering plans and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections to verify adherence to engineering designs, safety protocols, and quality benchmarks.
• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and project-related documentation to support project progress.
• Monitor contractor performance and assess progress on work execution.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and communicate findings to senior engineering staff.
• Ensure that materials used and workmanship meet defined quality and procedural standards.
• Identify and report non-compliances or issues discovered during inspections and follow up on resolutions.
• Collaborate closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to address and resolve technical challenges.
• Assist in testing and commissioning activities as required for project success.
• Maintain comprehensive records and logs concerning project inspection activities and regulatory conformity.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with at least 3 years of professional experience, or a Diploma in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of relevant work history.
• In-depth knowledge of civil engineering concepts and construction methodologies.
• Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements in construction.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications effectively.
• Strong communication and report-writing abilities.
• High attention to detail coupled with a proactive mindset toward identifying and solving problems.
• Basic skills in Microsoft Office and experience with construction management software are advantageous.
