About the Company
Our client is a renowned multidisciplinary architecture and design firm with multiple studios operating across Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia Pacific region. The practice covers a broad spectrum including residential, hospitality, commercial, government projects, urban design, and master-planning, supported by strong studio leadership and an experienced partnership group. Opportunity Overview
This newly established executive role will add a Chief Operating Officer to the leadership team. The COO will oversee and optimize operational functions while implementing strategies set by the Advisory Board. The role involves supporting the firm's significant growth and transformation initiatives, focusing on improving processes and technology adoption, including artificial intelligence, across all studios to enable efficiency and seamless integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations encompassing Technology, Marketing, Business Development, People & Culture, and Sustainability; provide leadership, mentoring, and set clear KPIs across departments.
- Drive best-practice enhancements by collaborating with the IT team to adopt emerging technologies including AI to boost performance and streamline workflows.
- Serve as the liaison with the Advisory Board, reporting progress and ensuring implementation of the Strategic Plan and comprehensive reporting protocols.
- Collaborate with the CFO to monitor project and financial performance, develop robust reporting methodologies, and lead the budget and revenue forecast process.
- Cultivate a collaborative and performance-oriented workplace aligned with company values maintaining high-quality work and client satisfaction.
- Lead operational and financial outcomes, promoting accountability throughout the practice.
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated success in a senior leadership role, ideally in professional services.
- Strong commercial insight with capabilities in financial oversight, strategic planning, and operational improvement.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to inspire, motivate, and unify teams.
- Proven ability to drive innovation, manage change, and implement scalable solutions.
- Educational credentials including a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration or related field.
