Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Cashier provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the retail sector. The role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service throughout the checkout process to foster customer loyalty. Additionally, the Cashier acts as a vigilant guardian of company assets with sharp attention to detail to prevent losses.

Key Duties

• Warmly welcome every customer and maintain a friendly demeanor.
• Efficiently handle all purchase transactions, including deactivating merchandise according to the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) program.
• Encourage customers to participate in company-sponsored initiatives such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable contributions.
• Support customers by assisting with bagging and merchandise loading.
• Adhere to safe work practices, including correct lifting techniques and maintaining a tidy work environment.
• Secure the cash register by carefully managing cash transactions, following company policies, and staying alert to surroundings.
• Direct customers to the Customer Service Manager for specific service or transactional needs.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $18.40 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be aged 16 years or older.
