Accountability

The Business Intelligence Analyst is pivotal in producing accurate, data-driven insights that bolster strategic planning, compliance adherence, operational improvements, and customer satisfaction at ONTC. Working closely with Operations, the role emphasizes developing key performance indicators (KPIs), reports, forecasting models, and predictive analytics to support data-informed decision-making aligned with contractual obligations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Aggregate and manage data from various internal and external sources to maintain high-quality datasets for analysis.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends and patterns that inform operational efficiency, compliance, and strategic initiatives.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports providing stakeholders with real-time, actionable insights aligned with existing data systems.
• Monitor and interpret KPIs to facilitate continuous service enhancements.
• Ensure data collection and reporting methodologies comply with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
• Seek out opportunities to optimize data gathering and automate reporting processes for enhanced efficiency.
• Document data procedures, analytical techniques, and reporting frameworks to standardize practices and enable effective knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with internal teams to clarify data requirements, perform ad hoc analyses, gather feedback, and customize reporting solutions supporting strategic goals.
• Develop, maintain, and improve predictive forecasting models using historical and external data sources; validate forecasts and evaluate potential operational impacts.
• Communicate analytical outcomes, forecasts, and performance metrics clearly to diverse stakeholders including management and clients.
• Contribute to special projects with data analysis, reporting, and actionable recommendations as assigned.

Requirements

• A university degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, IT, Data Science, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Certifications related to data reporting or business analysis (e.g., Power BI certification, IIBA) are advantageous.
• At least three years of recent experience as a Business or Data Analyst, particularly in operational or corporate services environments.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into dashboards, KPIs, and performance reports using tools like Power BI and Microsoft Fabric to aid operational decisions.
• Strong knowledge of performance monitoring, forecasting techniques, and predictive analytics.
• Experience in business process analysis, requirements gathering, documentation, stakeholder facilitation, and workshop management.
• Familiarity with Agile or iterative methodology in solution design.
• Experience with compliance or regulatory reporting in transportation is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Visio.
• Advanced skills in data analytical tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SharePoint, SQL, and Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling).
• Experience with R or Python for data analysis and automation is favorable.
• Valid Class G Driver’s License required.
• Strong analytical aptitude for processing complex datasets and deriving practical business insights.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
