About the Role

An established multi-location company is seeking a seasoned Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial administration tasks. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who excels in high-volume transaction environments and is interested in long-term career growth within finance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all daily bookkeeping tasks to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Efficiently handle large volumes of financial transactions.
  • Supervise purchase and sales ledger operations.
  • Perform reconciliations for bank, supplier, and control accounts.
  • Lead credit control efforts, managing outstanding debts and customer accounts proactively.
  • Coordinate with teams across various sites to maintain precise financial data.
  • Serve as the principal point of contact for external accountants and professional advisors.
  • Prepare documentation for month-end, year-end accounts, audits, and financial reports.
  • Generate regular financial and bookkeeping reports for senior management.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and related reporting.
  • Investigate discrepancies and respond to financial queries.
  • Maintain meticulous records ensuring adherence to internal financial policies.
  • Contribute to ongoing enhancements of financial processes and controls.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is organised, proactive, with confident communication abilities to liaise effectively with colleagues, clients, suppliers, and advisors.

Required Skills and Experience

  • At least three years experience in bookkeeping in a busy commercial setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large transaction volumes.
  • Experience with credit control and managing debtors.
  • Familiarity working alongside external accountants or financial advisors.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritize independently.
  • Competent in problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
