Job description
Overview
Located at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, this position is within Minor Hotels, an international hotel operator managing over 530 properties worldwide under brands such as Anantara and Avani. The Bell Captain oversees bell desk operations, focusing on effective luggage handling, guest service, and transportation coordination while leading and training the bell team to maintain high hotel service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily activities of the bell desk and porter staff.
- Ensure swift, polite handling of guest luggage during arrival, departure, and room changes.
- Welcome guests warmly, assist with inquiries, and provide details about hotel amenities and nearby attractions.
- Arrange guest transportation including taxis, airport pickups/drop-offs, and valet services where applicable.
- Keep detailed records of luggage movements and guest requests.
- Lead training, scheduling, and performance monitoring of bell team members to guarantee exceptional service quality.
- Maintain standards related to grooming, punctuality, and professionalism among bell staff.
- Address guest complaints promptly and escalate issues when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with departments such as Front Desk, Concierge, Housekeeping, and Security.
- Ensure guest belongings are safe and secure at all times.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or similar; hospitality-related certification is preferred.
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a comparable hotel role.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong guest service orientation with effective problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with local attractions and area is advantageous.
- Availability to work flexible schedules including weekends and public holidays.
