Role Summary

The Barista will craft premium coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty beverages while delivering personalized, warm service consistent with Raffles and Fairmont's luxury hospitality standards. This position requires expert knowledge of coffee products and brewing techniques, attentiveness to detail, and the ability to create meaningful guest interactions. Working closely with the food and beverage team, the role helps sustain an inviting and refined café environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Consistently prepare and serve high-quality beverages including specialty coffees and teas.
• Provide attentive, personalized guest interaction embodying luxury service values.
• Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of coffee varieties, brewing processes, and suggest menu selections.
• Maintain neat, organized, and hygienic coffee stations and equipment at all times.
• Handle order processing accurately through POS systems, ensuring prompt service during busy periods.
• Respond professionally to guest preferences and specific requests.
• Monitor and manage inventory, assist with restocking and rotation protocols.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with kitchen and restaurant teams to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
• Support a collaborative and positive work environment that champions operational excellence.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience as a Barista or within a café or luxury hospitality setting preferred.
• Strong passion for coffee and dedication to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Advanced knowledge of espresso machines, coffee preparation techniques, and beverage presentation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills coupled with a friendly demeanor.
• Professional appearance with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiar with POS technology and cash handling is advantageous.
• Thorough understanding of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety practices.
• Proficiency in English required; additional languages highly valued.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
