Aviation Training Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Aviation Training Manager to lead strategic planning and execution of aviation training programs remotely from the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and overseeing comprehensive training initiatives that ensure personnel competency, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across various aviation domains including flight operations, maintenance, engineering, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement aviation training strategies, competency frameworks, and governance aligned with industry regulations and company goals.
• Manage design, delivery, and continuous enhancement of training for flight crews, maintenance teams, ground handling, safety officers, and technical staff.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, HR, and leadership to support workforce skill development.
• Develop competency-based curricula, qualification pathways, recurrent and onboarding training schedules, and certification programs.
• Supervise instructors, training coordinators, subject matter experts, and external providers to ensure effective instruction.
• Maintain training records, licensing, qualification tracking, competency evaluations, and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate diverse training methods including simulator sessions, classroom instruction, e-learning, practical assessments, and blended learning.
• Keep training materials, SOPs, and instructional content updated with latest regulatory and operational standards.
• Support audits, inspections, accreditation, and certification activities led by aviation authorities.
• Develop instructor qualification, mentoring, coaching, and professional growth programs.
• Track KPIs such as training completion rates, competency achievement, compliance metrics, instructor effectiveness, and learner satisfaction.
• Conduct needs analyses, gap assessments, program evaluations, and implement continuous improvements.
• Ensure adherence to UAE GCAA, ICAO, EASA, FAA, IOSA, ISAGO, and Safety Management System regulations and organizational policies.
• Manage budgets, learning technologies, simulation assets, external providers, certification costs, and strategic initiatives.
• Advocate for and implement digital transformation including AI-driven adaptive learning, VR/AR simulations, digital twins, and business intelligence tools.
• Utilize LMS platforms and tools like Moodle, Cornerstone OnDemand, SAP SuccessFactors, Microsoft 365, Power BI, Tableau, and aviation compliance software to optimize training processes and insights.
• Generate executive dashboards, comprehensive reports, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
• Lead and mentor diverse teams fostering a culture of safety, compliance, accountability, and ongoing improvement.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering, Education, HR, Training & Development, Business Administration, or related fields; Master’s degree preferred.
• Certifications such as ICAO Instructor Qualification, GCAA Instructor Certification, EASA/FAA training credentials, ATPL, PMP, or CPLP/CPTD are highly regarded.
• Minimum of 5 years in aviation training or related disciplines with at least 2 years managing training programs and teams.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements, competency-based training/assessment, aviation safety, instructional design, and learning technology platforms.
• Experience with LMS tools, simulator management, aviation compliance systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power BI, Tableau.
• Exposure to advanced learning technologies including AI-driven platforms, VR/AR, adaptive systems, competency analytics, and predictive workforce planning is an asset.
• Excellent leadership, communication, project management, analytical problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and budgeting skills.
• Capability to handle multiple concurrent training initiatives balancing regulatory demands, operational goals, workforce needs, budgets, and schedules.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote setup collaborating with international teams, regulators, partners, with willingness for occasional travel for key activities.
