About the Role

The Chef Restaurant in Bhubaneswar is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Restaurant Manager to help guide daily operations and support the leadership team. This position is critical in bridging customer-facing service and back-end management, ensuring everything from guest satisfaction to inventory control runs smoothly. You will play an essential role in supervising teams, maintaining high hospitality standards, and ensuring operational efficiency.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the Restaurant Manager with overall business operations, sales tracking, and performance management.
  • Direct and support Restaurant Captains, waiters, and stewards, promoting prompt and courteous service at all times.
  • Efficiently address guest feedback, resolve complaints, and anticipate guest needs to maximize satisfaction levels.
  • Guide and train new staff in service protocols, restaurant standards, and food safety practices.
  • Oversee employee rosters, manage workforce schedules, and monitor team performance according to set targets.
  • Assist with inventory tracking and control, ensure compliance with hygiene regulations, and contribute to cost management reporting.
  • Supervise billing operations using Petpooja, and maintain strong skills in MS Excel for daily administrative functions.
  • Liaise closely with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and quality delivery of a variety of cuisines including Indian, Chinese, Tandoori, and Continental.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in hospitality, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity such as Restaurant Captain or Senior Steward.
  • Possession of a degree or diploma in Hotel Management is mandatory.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and POS software such as Petpooja, MICROS, or IDS.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for managing teams and guest relations.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays in a busy environment.
