Position Summary
GM2 Associates, Inc. is currently hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support operations within the Tampa, Florida area. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Project Managers on diverse projects, some of which will vary in complexity, and independently oversee smaller projects under the PM's guidance. This role will act as a coordinator and liaison among clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include controlling project documentation, managing databases, and coordinating project activities and communications to ensure that goals are met within established timelines and budget limits. Travel to project sites or other GM2 branches will be required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate efforts with engineers, CAD designers, surveyors, permitting specialists, and contractors.
- Assist in preparing and submitting site plans, permit applications, and relevant technical documents.
- Ensure contractors comply with quality, safety, environmental standards, and material management programs.
- Organize internal and client meetings, prepare agendas, and record detailed meeting minutes.
- Serve as liaison with local government bodies and regulatory agencies to facilitate permit approvals.
- Monitor project schedules and milestones using project management tools like Monday.
- Support procurement and coordination of third-party services including surveys, geotechnical reports, and specialty vendors such as conveyor and equipment suppliers.
- Contribute to contract execution, including managing change orders, field change directives, and project schedules while adhering to industry best practices.
- Assist in generating internal and external reports, including project budgeting, cost reporting, and status updates for all stakeholders.
Candidate Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Between 2 and 4 years in civil site development or industrial project coordination.
- Licenses/Certifications: Preferably holds a PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Technical skills: Familiarity with MS Project, Procore, Primavera Contract Manager, or similar project change management software is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Knowledge of permitting processes and site development standards in Florida is advantageous.
- Project & Client Management: Demonstrated success in managing projects and maintaining client relationships. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and professional conduct when engaging clients.
- Leadership: Capable of working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, demonstrating thought leadership, strong analytical abilities, and effective communication.
Additional Information
Travel to project sites and other company branches is a responsibility of this role to ensure project coordination and oversight.
