Job description
Role Overview
This role is responsible for overseeing the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) strategy implementation and performance across marine operations. The position involves managing both internal and external communications related to HSEQ, reporting on risk and compliance, and directing responses to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and company obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Report on the effectiveness of HSEQ strategy, performance outcomes, risks, compliance issues, incidents, and investigation results.
- Direct vessel crew and management to implement HSEQ strategy effectively, meet performance targets, mitigate risks, and comply with regulations.
- Serve as point of contact for internal stakeholders including Safety Managers, Marine Designated Person Ashore (DPA), HSEQ Marine Managers, Fleet Managers, Marine Managers, Technical Superintendents, and vessel officers and crew.
- Engage with external clients and contractors as the primary liaison to provide HSEQ subject matter expertise and ensure contractor management aligns with the company's HSEQ approach.
- Ensure occupational health, safety, and environmental accountability by adhering to safe work systems, following training and instructions, and reporting accidents or near misses.
- Exercise authority to halt any unsafe work activities to protect personnel and operations.
