Assistant Manager - Housekeeping

Overview

This entry-level management role supports the daily operations within Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry departments. The position oversees staff efforts in maintaining cleanliness of guestrooms and public areas, conducts inspections, ensures corrective measures are followed, and assists in maintaining guest and employee satisfaction while managing budgetary considerations.

Key Responsibilities

• Stay current with OSHA regulations and ensure team compliance.
• Manage lost and found processes efficiently.
• Coordinate room cleaning schedules based on immediate needs and upcoming check-outs or discharges.
• Maintain inventory levels of housekeeping supplies and linens.
• Communicate guest room status promptly to Front Desk for smooth operations.
• Collaborate with Engineering for guest room maintenance requirements.
• Adhere to loss prevention policies and procedures.
• Ensure employees have necessary equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
• Implement and supervise inspection programs for guestrooms and public spaces.
• Oversee linen and guest supplies inventory and assist with reordering.
• Supervise Housekeeping and related areas in the absence of the Director or Housekeeping Manager.
• Monitor employees' service behavior, provide feedback, and promote continuous improvement.
• Address guest complaints and problems, escalating to supervisors as needed.
• Review guest feedback and satisfaction survey results with staff to enhance service quality.
• Lead by example in delivering excellent guest relations.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a high school diploma or GED plus at least one year of housekeeping or related professional experience; or
• Hold a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field with no prior work experience required.
