Application Assistant Engineer

Role overview

Canon Singapore is hiring an Application Assistant Engineer to support core business applications, with a focus on CRM-related systems and administrative application environments. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders and vendors to keep applications running smoothly, translate business needs into technical solutions, and assist with rollout and user adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for business applications and CRM platforms.
• Work directly with business users and external vendors to resolve application-related issues.
• Prepare and deliver presentations that explain system solutions to both the team and the development group.
• Collect requirements, analyze business needs, and draft technical proposals and specifications.
• Carry out application testing and support development activities as needed.
• Coordinate testing sessions with business users.
• Assist with application implementation and provide end-user training.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
• Minimum 2 years of experience supporting administrative business application systems.
• Solid analytical thinking, strong troubleshooting ability, and careful attention to detail.
• Effective communication and technical writing skills.
• Business-level fluency in English and Mandarin.
• Presentation and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
• Background in supporting CRM and ERP systems, especially order and inventory management, is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases and technologies such as SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and XML.
• Exposure to SSRS reporting and data warehouse environments will be an added advantage.
