Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting department and report to the Controller. This fully remote, full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) is ideal for someone who is accountable, diligent, and brings positive energy to their work. You will ensure vendor payments are accurate and timely, supporting monthly financial close processes and maintaining smooth back-office operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately process over 500 vendor invoices monthly.
• Match delivery receipts with invoices and monitor vendor credits.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of credit card transactions and vendor statements.
• Assist with weekly and monthly accounting duties, maintaining checklists and reports.
• Adhere to documented procedures and resolve discrepancies before escalation.
• Work collaboratively across teams and suggest improvements for process efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum five years of accounts payable or accounting experience, preferably in construction.
• Proficient in Sage 100 Contractor and Sage Paperless software.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Clear, professional communication skills with a cooperative team approach.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote setup, skilled in Microsoft Excel and cloud-based accounting systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.

• Consistent, timely, and accurate vendor invoice and credit processing.
• Complete reconciliation of credit card and vendor statements each month.
• Unprompted completion of weekly and monthly accounting checklists.
• Trusted and dependable team member within the accounting department.

Additional Information

Terms and Compensation

The position offers hourly compensation ranging from $20 to $25.
