Accountant

Role overview

Abdulla Al Masaood and Sons Group (AMS Group) is looking for an experienced Accountant to join its finance function in Abu Dhabi. This is an on-site position focused on keeping accounting operations accurate, timely, and well-organized. The role suits someone with solid technical accounting knowledge, a hands-on working style, and familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics being an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Keep financial records up to date and post accounting entries each day.
• Oversee general ledger activity, journal posting, and account reconciliations.
• Manage payable and receivable workflows.
• Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing tasks.
• Ensure work is aligned with local regulations and internal company procedures.
• Help prepare VAT returns and corporate tax filings.
• Assist with both internal and external audit requests.
• Work with other departments to support accurate financial reporting.
• Take on any additional tasks assigned by the line manager from time to time.

Must-have requirements

• B.Com degree, along with CA Finalist status or ACCA qualification.
• At least 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Prior work experience in the UAE in a similar position.
• A valid driving licence is required.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.

Nice-to-have requirements

• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics.
• Hands-on exposure to VAT and UAE corporate tax preparation.
• Well-developed analytical and organisational abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
