Role overview
Arada is hiring a practical, detail-focused Accountant to oversee accounting functions and deliver reliable financial reporting for several entities. This position suits someone with F&B accounting experience, solid SME exposure, and the confidence to handle end-to-end finance work, including GST compliance, monthly closing, and management reporting.
You will be part of a fast-moving, growth-minded environment where accuracy, process improvement, and financial insight are all important to day-to-day success.
Accounting and financial operations
- Take ownership of the complete accounting cycle, covering payables, receivables, general ledger work, and bank reconciliations.
- Run routine accounting activities for more than one group entity.
- Carry out month-end closing tasks and produce financial reports on time and with accuracy.
- Keep accounting records precise and aligned with Singapore accounting standards and legal requirements.
- Prepare monthly management packs, financial analysis, and explanations for key variances.
GST and compliance
- Manage GST matters, including the preparation and filing of GST returns.
- Apply the correct GST treatment to transactions and maintain compliance with IRAS rules.
- Work with external auditors, tax consultants, and other third parties during audits and statutory submissions.
- Support compliance with corporate tax obligations and other regulatory requirements.
Multi-entity SME accounting
- Oversee accounting across multiple business entities, including intercompany entries and reconciliations.
- Assist with consolidation work and make sure reporting across entities is accurate.
- Help refine accounting processes, controls, and workflows that suit a growing SME setup.
- Partner with internal teams to provide financial insight and support business expansion.
Business support
- Track cash flow, payments, and working capital needs.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Provide financial data and analysis to support management decisions.
- Look for opportunities to increase efficiency and automate accounting tasks.
Qualifications and experience
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required. The role calls for at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in F&B, retail, hospitality, or consumer businesses. Candidates should have strong full-set accounting experience in an SME setting, plus hands-on responsibility for multiple entities, intercompany reconciliations, and Singapore GST reporting.
Skills and working style
The right person will be analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. Comfort in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting is important. Experience using accounting platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or Netsuite would be an added advantage.
