The opportunity
Etihad is seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive commercial expansion in Eritrea. This position goes well beyond standard account handling: you will help uncover new business, deepen relationships with corporate clients, travel management companies, and key trade partners, and support the airline’s long-term commercial footprint in a strategically important market.
You will work in close coordination with Etihad’s regional Sales & Distribution team and the appointed General Sales Agent (GSA) to design and deliver local sales plans that improve market share, increase premium revenue, and strengthen brand visibility.
The role comes with a high degree of independence and offers the chance to make a direct impact on Etihad’s performance in a growing market.
This opportunity is open only to candidates who already have full legal permission to work in Eritrea. Visa sponsorship is not available.
What you will do
- Create and implement the local sales approach to meet commercial and revenue goals.
- Develop strong working relationships with corporate organisations, travel management companies, government bodies, and important travel partners.
- Spot and secure fresh business opportunities that expand Etihad’s market share.
- Oversee and grow a portfolio of strategic accounts through proactive relationship management.
- Represent Etihad as a trusted commercial contact in the Eritrean market.
- Coordinate closely with the appointed GSA to ensure roles, activities, and market execution stay aligned.
- Negotiate commercial terms in line with internal policies and business priorities.
- Study market movements, customer patterns, and competitor actions to uncover new revenue possibilities.
- Share regular market intelligence and business insights with regional leadership.
- Promote new products, services, and commercial initiatives to customers and partners.
- Keep CRM records and pipeline updates accurate and current.
- Attend customer meetings, networking sessions, and industry events on behalf of Etihad.
- Work with regional stakeholders to support the launch and sustained growth of the Eritrean market.
What we are looking for
Etihad is looking for a commercially minded professional who combines strong relationship-building ability with the confidence to represent an international airline locally.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in airline sales, travel, hospitality, or another commercial B2B sales setting.
- Background in managing corporate accounts and/or travel management companies (TMCs).
- Proven ability to win new business and grow commercial revenue.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship-management capabilities.
- Experience working with several internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to interpret market trends and identify growth opportunities.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in the market.
- Hands-on experience with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
- Fluency in English; additional local languages are an advantage.
Recruitment process
