Quality Control Intern - Food Sector

About the Internship

This internship position involves overseeing and enhancing food safety and quality management processes within rural food production environments. The intern will ensure compliance with food safety regulations while supporting women entrepreneurs in villages.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and sustain systems for food quality and safety management.
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all stages of food handling, production, and storage.
• Conduct thorough inspections and audits at village production sites to detect hazards and verify conformity to SOPs.
• Analyze quality-related data to identify trends and initiate corrective measures where necessary.
• Regularly inspect raw materials, manufacturing processes, and final products.
• Carry out fundamental quality assessments on ingredients and finished goods while meticulously documenting outcomes.
• Provide educational sessions on food safety and quality standards to rural women entrepreneurs, ensuring proper adherence.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to guarantee adherence to food safety laws and mandates.
• Work in coordination with departments like production, procurement, and marketing to embed quality controls across the supply chain.
• Address and resolve consumer complaints regarding food quality or safety concerns.
• Keep abreast of current food safety regulations, industry standards, and advancements in food science and technology.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be available for part-time internship starting between 18th July 2026 and 22nd August 2026.
• The internship duration is three months, requiring consistent availability throughout.
• Preference given to candidates with relevant skills and interests, including women looking to begin or resume their careers.
• Educational background in food technology, biotechnology, biochemistry, pharmacy, agriculture or related fields is required.
• Understanding and speaking Marathi is essential for effective communication with rural stakeholders.
• Basic knowledge of quality control, food safety standards, and hygiene protocols is necessary.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving aptitude, communication, and documentation skills are important.
• Ability to conduct training and work effectively within rural communities is required.

Compensation & Perks

The stipend for this internship ranges from INR 5,000 to 10,000 per month. Additional benefits include a certificate of completion and a letter of recommendation upon successful conclusion.
