Role Overview
Join a welcoming and supportive team in The Wairarapa focused on statutory care and protection services. As a Workplace Administrator located at our Masterton office, you will provide essential administrative support to Social Work kaimahi. Your responsibilities will include managing financial plans, scheduling, data collection, and liaising effectively with vendors, casual staff, and other stakeholders. The role requires cultural sensitivity, with duties such as organizing welcomes and handling critical situations calmly and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage administrative tasks for Social Work staff including financial planning support, data management, and scheduling
- Communicate and coordinate with vendors, casual employees, and various stakeholders
- Engage with diverse cultural groups and uphold cultural competencies
- Handle reception duties such as answering phones, booking rooms, and assisting visitors
- Organize welcomes (whakatau) for new team members and whānau when needed
- Respond calmly and professionally to urgent and critical situations
Required Qualifications and Attributes
- Possess a full clean New Zealand driver's license; historic convictions considered individually
- Support and promote Health and Safety initiatives within the team
- Demonstrate strong computer proficiency and general IT literacy
- Have solid administrative skills, including typing, reporting, and fulfilling site needs
- Show cultural awareness with an understanding of Tikanga Māori principles and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences
- Understand and appreciate cross-cultural practices, particularly knowledge of Māori and Pacific peoples' cultures
- Possess strong time management abilities
Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a step-based salary scale beginning at $57,096 and can increase up to $62,773 annually based on experience and tenure.
