Job Responsibilities
- Ensure personal and team safety within the warehouse environment.
- Complete all required training relevant to the role, including warehouse machinery and manual handling.
- Understand and work towards achieving departmental key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Receive materials from external suppliers in accordance with internal processes.
- Promptly supply raw materials to the production floor daily following established procedures.
- Accurately process inventory movements using SAP and other controls.
- Perform daily cycle counts for raw materials both in warehouse and production areas; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and verify finished goods orders for shipping.
- Provide immediate support to production cells as needed.
- Participate actively in team huddles with updates focused on safety, inventory, and operational issues.
- Coordinate with Planning and Purchasing teams to address issues and material shortages as they arise.
- Complete all required training including online and in-house courses timely, along with necessary documentation.
- Support plant-wide initiatives such as 6S, recycling, and audits upon request.
- Engage in Continuous Improvement activities to enhance processes at MSA Galway.
- Contribute to boosting overall performance and implementing process enhancements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum education: Leaving Certificate; technical school or certificate-level education is a plus.
- Previous experience in warehousing or manufacturing settings.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and planning capabilities.
- Highly driven independent worker who also collaborates effectively within a team.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with openness to learning and growth.
- Able to meet deadlines consistently.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with receiving and performing accurate inventory and cycle counts.
- Use of safety shoes and glasses provided by the plant is mandatory.
- Capability to lift weights up to 25 kilograms.
Preferred Skills
- Experience operating machinery such as forklifts, hand trucks, or wave pickers; training and certification will be provided.
- Knowledge or training in manual handling safety.
- Basic familiarity with SAP software; training offered.
