Role Summary

We are seeking an expert-level Video Editor to join the Content & Post-Production team, specializing in the MrBeast Reacts YouTube channel. This role demands an editor deeply embedded in YouTube culture who can transform raw multi-camera reaction footage into captivating videos that retain millions of viewers. The position requires a keen eye for detail, an ability to work under tight deadlines, and a passion for precise pacing and audience engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and compile raw multi-cam reaction videos, balancing original commentary, picture-in-picture source clips, and impactful visual inserts.
• Create compelling video introductions and hooks that deliver on title and thumbnail expectations within the first 30 seconds to maximize retention.
• Apply rapid pacing, comedic timing, and engaging visual effects such as kinetic typography, memes, and custom graphic tracking.
• Deliver advanced sound design including sound effects, adaptive music ducking, and meticulous audio balancing to enhance voice clarity.
• Work collaboratively with Lead Editors and creative teams to integrate swift feedback and revision cycles.
• Analyze YouTube viewer retention data to identify drop-off points and refine editing strategies for improved engagement.
• Maintain meticulously organized timelines in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects following established internal standards.
• Coordinate with thumbnail designers to ensure video content aligns with visual strategies and channel goals.
• Stay current on internet culture trends and viral editing techniques to continuously refresh channel content with humor and visual interest.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years professional experience editing high-tempo YouTube, commentary, or viral-style content.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, including advanced usage of keyframing, motion tracking, masking, and dynamic linking.
• Strong understanding of YouTube’s algorithmic behavior, including metrics such as average view duration, click-through rate, and retention analysis.
• Advanced skills in dynamic sound design, audio leveling, and music selection to support comedic and emotional video elements.
• Analytical approach focused on data-driven viewer retention rather than solely creative intuition.
• Ability to thrive in a fast feedback environment, adept at incorporating critiques and adapting quickly.
• Exceptional attention to detail with frame-precise editing and overlay management.
• Experience managing large-scale workflows, including file compression, color correction, and YouTube-optimized exports.
• Strong accountability for overall video quality, strict adherence to deadlines, and technical accuracy.
