About the Role

This senior executive position involves leading enterprise-wide efforts in operational excellence and technical transformation for a rapidly expanding ingredients manufacturing company based in the Midwest USA. The company operates multiple production sites and is focused on significant investments in manufacturing capabilities, technical innovation, and growth initiatives. The Vice President will architect the integration of Operational Excellence, Technical Services, Process Development, and Manufacturing into a unified operating model, playing a pivotal role in evolving manufacturing and engineering functions while steering large capital projects and product innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deploy a comprehensive enterprise Operational Excellence strategy.
Oversee Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Operational Excellence projects spanning multiple manufacturing plants.
Collaborate with R&D and technical teams to enhance product commercialisation and manufacturing processes.
Optimize and standardize manufacturing processes across the network to boost operational capabilities.
Support implementation of capital investments, new technologies, and ensure manufacturing readiness.
Develop leadership skills within Continuous Improvement, Engineering, and Technical departments.
Establish performance measurement frameworks, KPIs, and governance for sustainable operational gains.
Lead integration efforts post-acquisitions to align new facilities with enterprise standards.
Promote a culture centered on safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Executive-level or senior leadership experience within dairy, food, nutritional, or specialty ingredient manufacturing industries.
Proven success managing multiple manufacturing sites.
Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence methodologies.
Experience in partnering with Technical Services, Process Engineering, and R&D teams.
Track record directing large transformation programs that yield measurable productivity, quality, safety, and cost improvements.
Demonstrated executive presence capable of influencing senior leadership across Operations, Commercial, and Technical functions.
Experience building effective teams and mentoring future leaders.

Preferred Industry Background

Experience in dairy ingredients, whey protein, milk protein, cheese manufacturing, nutritional or functional food ingredients.
Knowledge of food ingredient manufacturing processes such as dry blending, spray drying, powder processing, and specialty ingredients.
Background in process manufacturing sectors.
