Veterinary Receptionist - Customer Care

About the Role

Ark Vetcare Kilmacud is seeking a full-time, permanent Veterinary Receptionist to act as the friendly and professional first point of contact for clients and their pets at this busy small animal hospital in South Dublin. This role centers on delivering outstanding customer service, managing appointments, handling payments, and supporting smooth daily operations in a fast-paced veterinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome clients and their pets, ensuring a warm and professional reception experience.
• Manage appointment bookings utilizing the clinic's tailored system efficiently.
• Answer telephone calls and respond promptly to client inquiries.
• Process payments, handle cash transactions, and discuss financial matters with clients.
• Assist with stock control and coordinate deliveries.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the practice environment.
• Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support staff to optimize client and patient experiences.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a receptionist or front-of-house role within a customer service setting.
• Comfortable with computer use, data entry, and navigating multiple software platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with a warm, professional demeanor.
• Ability to stay calm and manage competing priorities in a busy workplace.
• Team player with a commitment to animal welfare and exceptional client care.

Working Hours and Schedule

The position involves a 40-hour workweek over five days Monday to Saturday, including a rotating schedule covering one out of every two Saturdays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, with a weekday day off in lieu. There are no Sunday, bank holiday, or out-of-hours shifts, supporting a balanced work-life routine.

Compensation and Benefits
