Position Overview

The Vehicle Estimator plays a crucial role in evaluating vehicle conditions, generating accurate repair estimates, and refining the estimation process. This position involves collaboration with technicians, insurance representatives, and customers to facilitate smooth vehicle repairs and proper cost management.

Responsibilities

• Examine damaged vehicles thoroughly to determine necessary repairs.
• Create precise and detailed repair estimates utilizing software such as Audatex and BDQ.
• Effectively communicate with customers about damage assessments, repair options, and associated costs.
• Work alongside insurance companies to secure repair authorizations.
• Coordinate with parts suppliers and technicians to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and economically.
• Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, repair orders, and customer interactions.
• Provide regular updates to customers on repair progress and expected timelines.
• Ensure all estimates adhere strictly to industry standards and internal policies.
• Conduct inspections after repairs to verify quality and completeness of work.
• Be competent in carrying out timely final account settlements.
• Train junior estimators to enhance team capabilities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated experience as an Autobody Repair Estimator is essential.
• Proficient use of the Audatex estimating platform is mandatory; familiarity with Autoflow Bodyshop management is advantageous but not required.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to handle diverse stakeholder interactions.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment.
• Possession of a full clean driving license (Class B).
• Preferred: Technical credentials or certifications relating to auto repair or estimating.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in vehicle estimating, collision repairs, or related areas.
• Experience with additional software such as Sage is beneficial.
• Deep understanding of vehicle systems and repair methodologies.
• Capability to interpret insurance policies and repair standards.
