Role Overview
As a Utility Worker based at YYZ Airport, your primary responsibility is managing inventory and stock in the storeroom and warehouse, ensuring the smooth operation of restaurant support functions. You will coordinate receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming goods, maintain clean and organized workspaces, and handle internal merchandise deliveries within the terminal. Attention to detail and the adaptability to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Systematically organize and stock products following established procedures.
- Receive deliveries, check product quality, and report discrepancies to the Manager on Duty (MOD).
- Maintain storeroom cleanliness including shelving, floors, lighting, and ventilation systems.
- Accurately fulfill orders according to distribution requests and standard operating procedures.
- Deliver merchandise internally within terminal premises as required.
- Track inventory levels, including wood and ice stocks at restaurant locations.
- Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Ability to interpret invoices and perform product counts accurately.
- Understanding of FIFO inventory management principles.
- Capability to regularly lift weights up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 85 pounds.
- Comfort with climbing ladders to access stored materials.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform tasks involving stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules including evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Compensation
The position offers a wage of $20.85 per hour.
