Technical Engineer for Nextcloud Office and LibreOffice Integration

Role Overview

You will serve as the key technical liaison between the Nextcloud Office frontend and the LibreOffice C++ core, tackling complex architectural challenges that arise when synchronizing a large, stateful C++ engine with a modern, real-time Node.js environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design communication protocols such as WebSockets, WOPI, and Shared Memory to enable Node.js to control the C++ core with latency under 10 milliseconds.
• Analyze and reconstruct existing C++ components to identify the "Source of Truth" for intricate document states and integrate them into a modern JavaScript architecture.
• Curate technical context (RAG) for AI sub-agents, ensuring large language models comprehend the unique characteristics of the LOKit core to support precise development by the team.
• Act as the final authority on all code related to the integration bridge, verifying not only functional correctness but also mathematical soundness and robustness required for real-time collaboration.

Required Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in modern C++ standards and a deep understanding of legacy C++ codebases.
• Preferably experienced with game engine architectures.
• Familiarity with high-frequency trading environments where abstraction overhead is measured in milliseconds.
• Hands-on experience with AI development tools and orchestration, including managing RAG-based contexts to enhance code generation accuracy and support engineering workflows.
