Role overview
Roots is hiring a Team Lead and is offering free staff accommodation. In this role, you will connect the store leadership team with sales associates by supporting day-to-day store operations and encouraging the team to perform at a high level. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will also provide backup support to the Store and Assistant Managers when they are unavailable. A key part of the job is setting the tone for strong selling and customer service behaviors so that customers and employees experience a consistently positive store environment.
What you will do
- Promote a customer-first selling approach and strengthen brand loyalty through solid product knowledge.
- Work with store leadership to carry out action plans that improve results and keep store operations running smoothly.
- Bring ideas and practical solutions to the leadership team to help increase productivity and improve store processes.
- Support the onboarding and training of new associates.
- Coach team members on customer service basics and recognize good performance with positive feedback.
- Help resolve customer service issues.
- Assign and oversee tasks to improve the efficiency of store operations.
- Share individual and team performance updates with store management.
- Make sure employees receive their scheduled breaks and meal periods.
- Encourage open communication on the sales floor.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Carry out opening and closing duties, along with inventory-related tasks as assigned.
What you should bring
- At least 1 year of related experience in retail apparel; experience in luxury retail is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a sales team successfully and be recognized as a leader by peers.
- Hands-on experience with POS systems, daily banking, and timely report submission.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- A genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer experiences.
- The ability to collaborate well with others while staying self-driven.
- Availability for rotating weekly shifts, including weekends, closing shifts, and holidays.
