About the Role
Join Autism A Chara in Arklow, Co. Wicklow as a Support Worker within the respite service, contributing 39 hours per week. This position requires dedication to supporting individuals with complex needs through person-centred approaches.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a full QQI Level 5 major award in Health/Care or related field is mandatory.
- Understanding of the Key Worker/Support Worker role and the philosophy of supporting people with complex needs.
- Capability in programme planning and developing person-centred plans.
- Availability to undertake shifts on a rota, including evenings, weekends, and waking night duties.
- A clean, full driving license is desirable owing to vehicle operation responsibilities.
- Legal permission to work in Ireland is required.
Responsibilities
- Providing compassionate support addressing the unique preferences and needs of individuals.
- Adapting communication techniques tailored to the person’s requirements.
- Engaging users in community participation and daily living activities, including personal care.
- Helping individuals to acquire new skills and supporting their autonomy in decision-making while promoting awareness of their rights.
