About the Role
Join our Supported Independent Living team based in Taupo as a dedicated Support Worker focused on empowering individuals with disabilities. This permanent part-time position entails 16 hours of work per fortnight, with possibilities for additional hours depending on service demands. Work is scheduled Monday to Friday within 8:00 am to 6:30 pm, ensuring no weekend or late-night shifts to support a strong work-life balance. Casual work options are also available to maintain service continuity across the Taupo region.

Responsibilities
- Support tangata whaikaha (people with disabilities) to enhance their confidence and independence.
- Assist individuals in developing essential life skills and fostering meaningful relationships with whānau, hapori, and communities.
- Cultivate opportunities for learning, growth, and social belonging while respecting individual dignity and mana.
- Collaborate within a committed team to provide consistent, compassionate support.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Demonstrate kindness, empathy, and dependability.

- Exhibit strong computer literacy and communication skills.
- Show adaptability, resilience, and a solutions-focused attitude to changing situations.
- Hold a valid First Aid Certificate or be willing to acquire one.
- Possess or be ready to obtain a Certificate in Health and Wellbeing.
- Bring experience in disability or mental health support and knowledge of behaviour support strategies and intellectual disabilities.
- Possess a full New Zealand driver’s license, legal authorization to work in NZ, and clear police and Oranga Tamariki checks.
