Overview
Insight Global is searching for a Supply Chain Director for its client in Kitchener, Canada, specializing in AI-powered feed management systems. This leadership role entails overseeing the strategic direction and operational execution of the company's worldwide supply chain. The chosen candidate will be responsible for designing robust processes, optimizing supplier partnerships, managing inventory, and facilitating production with contract manufacturers. This role balances strategic planning with hands-on management in a fast-growing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a supply chain vision that supports the expanding geographic footprint of the company.
- Create both short-term and long-term supplier management, sourcing, and logistics strategies.
- Collaborate with the VP of Operations to ensure alignment of supply chain and business objectives.
- Establish annual targets and policies to drive corporate supply chain goals.
- Design and uphold supply chain policies and procedures including supplier approvals, return authorizations, and inventory management.
- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies to drive continuous process improvements enhancing efficiency and reducing costs.
- Track key performance indicators and initiate corrective actions to sustain operational excellence.
- Source, evaluate, and onboard suppliers meeting required cost, quality, and delivery criteria.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and lead times with vendors and contract manufacturers.
- Monitor vendor performance through audits and scorecards and maintain compliance documentation.
- Set cost reduction goals for product bills of materials to support business profitability.
- Oversee procurement tasks including purchase orders, delivery scheduling, and inventory reconciliation.
- Manage Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes for suppliers.
- Support contract manufacturing by ensuring material availability and cost-effective operations.
- Lead and mentor a Supply Chain Analyst to assist with data analytics, reporting, and daily operations.
- Work collaboratively across teams including engineering, production, fulfillment, finance, and quality assurance.
- Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the supply chain function.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' progressive experience in supply chain roles, including at least 2 years in leadership capacities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong background in strategic planning, supplier relationships, and overseeing contract manufacturing.
- Proficient in inventory control, ERP/MRP systems, and global sourcing practices.
- Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies for process optimization.
- Excellent negotiation, facilitation, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience managing and developing team members in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience within hardware, electronics, or IoT manufacturing supply chains.
- A Master’s degree is advantageous.
Compensation
The position offers a salary range of CAD 120,000 to 140,000 annually.
