Role Overview

This opportunity is based within the NEXT division, which acts as an incubator focused on exploration and development of new, innovative products to better serve CAR Group’s global user base. The division embraces a start-up mentality with entrepreneurial agility, and the role involves hybrid work arrangements blending remote flexibility with on-site collaboration.

Responsibilities

Lead customer journey and strategic discovery efforts leveraging user research, behavioral data, market insights, and existing knowledge across CAR Group’s marketplaces.
Convert complex customer journeys and unmet needs into actionable strategic opportunity areas and recommendations.
Own priority discovery projects from initial problem framing and hypothesis creation through concept design, prototyping, experimentation, and testing phases.
Develop lean experiments to evaluate customer desirability, commercial viability, technical feasibility, operational constraints, strategic fit, and scalability potential.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, technology, data, commercial, operations, and regional teams, facilitating workshops and co-creation sessions to foster alignment and drive momentum.
Synthesize evidence into persuasive presentations, investment cases, and strategic pitches to guide decision-making on advancement, pivoting, pausing, or discontinuation of ideas.
Utilize AI-powered research, synthesis, and prototyping tools to enhance the efficiency and quality of discovery activities, applying sound judgment in evaluating outputs.

Qualifications

Proven experience in strategic design, service design, customer experience, product design, or related disciplines, especially with complex end-to-end customer journeys.
Proficiency in navigating ambiguous, early-stage opportunities and progressing projects from research through to tangible concepts and experiments.
Strong skills in research synthesis, effectively integrating qualitative, quantitative, and market data into actionable insights.
Practical expertise in journey mapping, service blueprinting, concept development, and prototyping methodologies.
Commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to balance customer value, business impact, feasibility, and scalability considerations.
Excellent collaboration, facilitation, and storytelling capabilities, and confidence using modern research, mapping, prototyping, and AI-enabled tools.
Experience with marketplaces, platforms, multi-sided businesses, or automotive/mobility sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
