Stores Person

About the Role

Pertemps is seeking a Stores Person for an established manufacturing company in Southampton. This is a full-time, permanent position focused on managing incoming goods and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming deliveries, verifying quantities, condition, and documentation against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Perform regular cycle counts and stock checks to ensure accurate inventory records, investigating any discrepancies.
• Accurately book in stock, update inventory management systems, and maintain data for stock visibility.
• Manage the controlled issuance of stock, parts, and equipment.
• Report any stock shortages, damaged goods, or delivery delays.
• Ensure storage areas are kept clean, safe, and well-organized.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a goods inwards or stores role.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft applications.
• Solid understanding of various components, parts, and products.
• Exceptional attention to detail.

The Role Details

• Starting Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, based on experience.
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Annual Leave: 20 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 days with continued service.
