Store Manager - Decathlon

Role summary

The Universe Manager is in charge of day-to-day activity on the Universe floor, making sure operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with the company’s customer service expectations. The role also calls for strong control over visual merchandising, store presentation, and product availability.

Team leadership

• Plan work schedules, define goals, review performance, coach the team, and keep employees motivated so they can deliver strong results.
• Build a commercial plan, create seasonal floor layouts, and prepare an annual calendar for commercial campaigns.
• Suggest pricing changes using market benchmarking to help the store stay competitive.

Sales, stock, and performance tracking

• Track Universe sales, stock movement, profit and loss, and team targets on a weekly and seasonal basis.
• Keep a close watch on inventory, support regular stock counts with the Store Manager, maintain inventory accuracy, and reorder items as needed to keep stock levels healthy and assortment coverage strong.

Customer service and store execution

• Welcome customers and ensure they are assisted promptly and according to service standards.
• Maintain high standards for shop events, promotions, and overall store presentation.
• Prepare and manage the events calendar, share it with the team, and oversee promotion communication through social media tools.

Business development and coordination

• Handle communication with wholesale customers and respond to their needs in a timely way.
• Work with local sports clubs to strengthen brand visibility and support sales growth.
• Oversee shipment receiving, coordinate with local suppliers, negotiate pricing, and report operational issues as they arise.
