Role Overview

Matter Health is looking for a seasoned Senior Project Manager, Implementation to own complex, cross-functional work that supports growth, operational excellence, and the rollout of new programs, markets, and strategic initiatives.

In this position, you will help turn plans into action across the business, making sure projects stay on schedule, stakeholders remain aligned, and key objectives are met.

The best fit for this role is a highly organized professional who builds strong working relationships, performs well in fast-moving and uncertain settings, and has a strong history of driving accountability and influence across all levels of an organization. Excellent communication, strong executive presence, and the ability to balance competing priorities while staying focused on outcomes are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own implementation and operational projects from early planning through stabilization and post-launch support.
  • Create, maintain, and manage detailed plans covering timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate work across clinical, operations, people, technology, finance, and executive teams.
  • Run project meetings, provide progress updates, and keep stakeholders aligned on priorities and deadlines.
  • Spot risks, blockers, and issues early, then escalate and address them to protect implementation success.
  • Encourage ownership across teams and build strong collaborative working relationships.
  • Support new market entry, operational scaling, and organization-wide strategic efforts.
  • Build playbooks, standard operating procedures, and repeatable processes that support growth.
  • Monitor project performance and share reporting and recommendations with leadership.
  • Look for ways to simplify workflows, improve efficiency, and strengthen implementation methods.
  • Act as a trusted partner to leaders across the company and help with change management when needed.

Success Milestones

First 90 days: Learn the operating model, implementation approach, and key stakeholders; establish relationships across teams and build credibility with leaders and frontline staff; take charge of active implementation and operational work; identify opportunities to improve visibility, communication, and execution.

Within 6 months: Independently manage several complex implementation initiatives at the same time; support market expansion and growth projects successfully; establish standardized tools, processes, and reporting for project management; become a trusted advisor to cross-functional leaders.

Within 12 months: Lead enterprise-level implementation work with limited oversight; create scalable frameworks that support continued growth; deliver measurable gains in execution, stakeholder engagement, and operational effectiveness; contribute meaningfully to expansion strategy and long-term growth goals.

Qualifications

Required: A bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, Operations, or a related area, or equivalent professional experience; at least 8 years of experience in project management, implementation, operations, consulting, or a related function; demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional work with multiple stakeholders; ability to juggle several priorities in fast-moving environments; strong communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills; experience influencing others and driving accountability without direct reporting authority; polished executive presence and ability to communicate effectively at all levels; comfort working in high-growth, rapidly changing, or ambiguous settings; strong organization, attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred: Background in healthcare, healthcare services, healthcare technology, managed care, or value-based care; experience supporting implementations, market launches, or operational scaling; startup or high-growth company experience; PMP or another project management credential; familiarity with tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or Jira; consulting experience is a plus.

Why Matter Health

At Matter Health, the belief is that a person’s zip code should not decide the quality of care they receive. The mission is active, practical, and central to everyday work.
