Specialist Solution Architect - Developer Transformation

Role Overview

The Developer Transformation (DevTx) team at Amazon Web Services is dedicated to empowering developers and development teams to adopt cutting-edge methodologies, tools, and cloud-native architectures. This team helps developers increase their proficiency and confidence in building modern AI-driven cloud applications leveraging AWS services. The DevTx Solution Architect will collaborate closely with customers to foster innovation and modernization in software development practices, championing best practices in full-stack, cloud-native application development and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate as an integral member of the AWS Solution Architecture team by leading one-on-one and group discussions, workshops with developers, software engineers, enterprise and solution architects, and CTOs to address architectural and development challenges.
• Promote AWS adoption among students, startups, and professional developers by engaging with community events such as conferences, meetups, user groups, hackathons, and startup gatherings.
• Drive the strategy and execution of AWS developer events, enhancing the developer experience through presentations, live demonstrations, and direct attendee interaction.
• Create technical assets including reference applications, starter kits, design patterns, and practical how-to guidance to motivate developer engagement with the AWS platform.
• Develop a robust library of reusable developer resources such as demos, sample code, blog content, tutorials, and other educational materials.
• Feed user insights to AWS Product Management and Engineering teams by representing developer needs and participate in technical discussions to facilitate accelerated adoption and adherence to best practices.
• Be prepared for occasional international travel as part of the role based in Singapore.

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in designing or architecting scalable and reliable new or existing software systems with expertise in design patterns.
• Capability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to audiences ranging from business stakeholders to technical teams.
• Proven experience collaborating effectively across multiple cross-functional teams including technical and non-technical groups.
• Over 3 years of professional software development experience or a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or closely related STEM discipline.
• Fluent proficiency in Mandarin for reading, writing, and speaking.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with the software development life cycle and managing distributed, high-availability systems especially related to large-scale data extraction and processing.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based solutions, system administration (Linux/Windows), network administration (DNS, IPsec, BGP, VPN, load balancing), or programming languages such as Node.js, Java, Ruby, C#, Python, or PHP.
• Experience using cloud platforms (AWS preferred), working with SQL and NoSQL databases, leveraging AI tools to boost development productivity, contributing to open-source projects, and version control systems.
• Demonstrated history in customer-facing roles.
• AWS certifications such as Cloud Technologist, Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or Developer are advantageous.
