About the Role
KBR provides critical engineering support to the U.S. Air Force through the AFCAP V Program, ensuring effective installation engineering, asset management, and real property services at Ali Al Salem Air Base (ASAB), Kuwait. This role involves overseeing the daily management and coordination of engineering operations, asset visibility, and real property activities in compliance with contractual, safety, and government standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and enforce a zero-harm safety culture and ensure compliance with environmental, quality assurance, and OSHA standards.
- Supervise daily installation engineering tasks, asset management programs, and real property coordination to meet Performance Work Statement requirements.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team including engineers, technicians, planners, and real property personnel to deliver timely and high-quality results.
- Manage work assignments, monitor execution, and resolve issues to maintain operational efficiency and service levels.
- Plan personnel scheduling to cover shifts, rotations, and respond to urgent mission needs.
- Conduct audits and inspections of ongoing and completed work to ensure adherence to quality standards and initiate corrective measures if necessary.
- Oversee preventive maintenance planning to sustain critical mission systems reliability and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate repair activities and escalate issues to maintain operational readiness.
- Maintain collaborative communication with government stakeholders and mission partners to support compliance, planning, and execution.
- Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and records management for engineering and asset management activities.
- Manage inventory of essential parts and supplies, facilitating procurement and logistics support.
- Prepare operational reports and performance metrics, including employee evaluations, on a scheduled basis.
- Effectively manage priorities in a demanding, austere environment while sustaining professionalism and focus on mission objectives.
- Execute additional assignments and special projects as directed by the Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering, construction, or facility maintenance.
- Proven leadership skills managing multidisciplinary engineering and technical teams.
- Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, installation operations, and project execution.
- Competence in maintenance management, including preventive and corrective planning.
- Knowledgeable in safety and compliance management following OSHA and industry guidelines.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement across government and contractor entities.
- Proficiency in official reporting and recordkeeping with government systems.
- Capability to operate within a high-risk, austere environment.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Familiarity with lifecycle planning of utilities infrastructure and data-driven sustainment systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Experienced with operational continuity across shift rotations in government-led governance frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting U.S. Air Force Civil Engineering functions, particularly Engineering and Operations Flight integration.
- Familiarity with asset management and sustainment software tools such as SMS BUILDER, PAVER, and NexGen IT or comparable platforms.
- Background in real property accountability, inventory reconciliation, and facility record management.
- Certifications or formal training in safety, quality control, or project management (e.g., OSHA 30, PMP, Lean/Six Sigma).
- Demonstrated success delivering KPI-driven outcomes within a contractual environment, including audit readiness and corrective action oversight.
