Ikon is a private higher education institute specializing in Art Therapy, Early Childhood Education, Counselling, and Psychotherapy. Role Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic sessional lecturers to join our faculty, offering flexible timetables including morning, afternoon, online, and evening sessions to suit diverse schedules. The classes are delivered primarily at our campus in Brisbane CBD, conveniently located near Central station. Reporting to the Head of School, you will be responsible for providing an engaging educational experience through teaching and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver course content within Early Childhood Education using both in-person and digital teaching methods effectively.
Facilitate student engagement and consultations, communicating student concerns to the Head of Faculty.
Maintain positive relationships with all involved parties to ensure smooth course delivery.
Participate in weekly subject forums and discussions to support academic standards.
Timely and accurate marking of student assessments in line with institutional guidelines.
Take part in moderation and benchmarking exercises as necessary.
Attend faculty meetings and offer student consultations when required.
Engage actively in scholarly practices to maintain educational quality.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Possession of a PhD or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related discipline.
At least 2 years, preferably 5 or more years, of relevant professional experience in the early childhood education field.
Prior teaching or tutoring experience is advantageous.
Familiarity with higher education standards and requirements.
Up-to-date knowledge of discipline developments and commitment to continuous professional development and scholarship.
A strong passion for education and capability to effectively communicate and engage with students.
Willingness to undergo a National Criminal Background Check if requested.
