Senior Warehouse Manager

About the Role

We are working with a prominent client in the logistics and supply chain sector, based in Waterford, seeking a seasoned Senior Warehouse Manager. This leadership position involves overseeing sophisticated warehouse functions across the Food, Pharmaceutical, and General Warehousing sectors within a dynamic, expanding organization.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be instrumental in enhancing operational excellence, cultivating high-performing teams, and ensuring outstanding service quality. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders in Quality, Transport, IT, HR, and commercial departments to shape operational strategy and uphold superior service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight across multiple warehouse sites, translating business goals into actionable plans.
• Design and implement workforce and succession strategies to support organizational growth and capabilities.
• Lead and mentor managers, supervisors, and teams, fostering a culture of high performance, engagement, and accountability.
• Manage performance, develop talent, and plan capacity for operational efficiency.
• Track operations metrics, allocate resources judiciously, and meet critical deadlines.
• Analyze operational issues, evaluate risks, and make commercially sound decisions.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across various departments.
• Drive continuous improvement through regular operational assessments and process validations.
• Lead and coordinate projects that enhance operational efficiency in conjunction with internal teams and external partners.
• Oversee daily warehouse performance ensuring customer orders are fulfilled accurately and timely.
• Standardize operations by enforcing SOPs and key performance indicators.
• Seek and implement improvements in efficiency and resource use while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
• Ensure full compliance with quality and regulatory standards, maintaining audit readiness.
• Conduct investigations and root cause analyses on operational deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Promote and uphold best practices in health and safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and quality compliance.
• Maintain rigorous stock management, product integrity, and security standards.
• Utilize business systems including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and operational platforms for reporting and performance monitoring.
• Develop and sustain strong customer relationships and lead review meetings covering operational KPIs and continuous improvement projects.
• Produce detailed operational and customer reports regularly, supporting payroll, billing, and cost reporting processes.
• Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and managing operational costs.
• Use data analytics to identify trends, support decision-making, and drive enhancements.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 3 to 4 years managing substantial operational teams in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing managers and cultivating high-performing teams.
• Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in analytical problem solving and data-driven decision-making.
• Exceptional organizational skills capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experienced with Microsoft Office and operational management systems.
• Background in warehouse or logistics is preferred, though candidates with relevant operational leadership experience from other industries will be considered.
